Our en suite vanity has always irked me just a little bit.  Its nothing special, from Ikea, but it did the job and is simple enough for the space.  I’ve been mulling over the space over the last few months and have come to the conclusion that the best use of the wall would be to create a double sink vanity that is relatively open on the bottom since the one corner is a little crowded by the tub.

I love the look of a furniture-inspired vanity,  it just seems to soften the bathroom and give such gentle character to the room.  I’m settled on a sink on either side of a set of drawers layout.  I’ve purchased four turned legs for the two ends, so the middle part is what I need to figure out.

Here’s some inspiration I’ve been using:

Those shower fixtures!!!
Love this one for the half bath downstairs vanity!  Will be on the lookout for a galvanized tub!
A simple wooden stand (and holes drilled for plumbing) transforms a Dutch galvanized metal hay-collecting bin into a statement-making sink in this California cottage's powder room.
So there you go…that’s where I’m at for inspiration.  I’m actually thinking about making the vanity blue to match a tone of the blue that’s in the shower floors…not sure if I’m brave enough though!
